Effective April 20, 2016, the Dubai International Finance Center (DIFC) Free Zone has announced that new and renewal employment visas for applicants over the age of sixty (60) will be valid for one (1) year unless the applicant is a shareholder of the company. Previously there were no restrictions on the issuance of Residence Permits based on age.
Clients who are sending employees over the age of sixty (60) to their office in DIFC will be issued only a one (1) year Residence Permit. If the client wants the employee to stay beyond one (1) year, they have to renew his or her visa every year.
