What is changing?
In an effort to further improve the United Arab Emirate’s (UAE’s) standing as a top destination for global investment and make it more attractive to professionals with exceptional talent from around the world, the UAE Cabinet has adopted a new system of entry visas for investors and professionals providing them with long-term visas for up to ten (10) years. This new rule will take effect before end of 2018.
Who will be affected?
Employers wishing to hire specialists in medical, scientific, research, and technical fields. Scientists, outstanding students, and innovators will also be considered for this type of visa.
What to expect
Currently, depending on the zone, the maximum validity for a visa issued is three (3) years. Once the new process is in place, investors, doctors, specialists, engineers and students with outstanding academic performance will be able to apply for a ten (10) year residence visa in the UAE. We expect future updates in the coming days regarding this effort by the government. This change aims to ease the immigration process by eliminating the need for renewals and therefore reducing costs for the employer. We will be working closely with clients wishing to bring new talent on board. By providing us with a job title, we can suggest which type of visa works best and assist applicants with the process from beginning to end.
