United Arab Emirates – New Changes to Dependant Visa Endorsement Process

What has changed

Effective February 10, 2019, dependant visa endorsement will no longer be completed across the counter at the Immigration office in Al Manara Immigration Center. Until further notice, all urgent visa stamping applications will be handled by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Department’s official courier service.

Previously, dependant visa endorsement was completed across the immigration counter with the sponsor’s presence at the immigration office.

Who is affected

All clients who employ foreign nationals in the UAE, who have dependant family members requiring inbound immigration processes.

What to expect

Factoring in the collection and delivery time of the Zajel service, the processing timeline for securing a dependant visa from the GDRFA will increase by an additional four (4) working days.

Once the residence application is filed, Emigra will notify the Zajel courier service of the approval and will coordinate with the courier service to have the visa endorsed on the passport.

Emigra Worldwide can have the dependant visa endorsed with either of the steps described above, or the sponsor will need to visit the Zajel office located in the General post office in Dubai. Please note that this process is quite extensive and the sponsor will likely have to wait a minimum of two (2) hours due to the high number of applicants.
