Qatar – Visa-Free Entry for Citizens of Eighty (80) Countries

What has changed

On August 9th, 2017, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (MoI), Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), and Qatar Airlines announced a program to allow visa-free entry to citizens of eighty (80) countries. Effective immediately, the program is designed to encourage air transport and tourism amid the boycott by Qatar’s neighbors. Please see ‘What to expect’ for further details.

Who is affected?

  • Citizens of the designated countries

What to expect 

Nationals from the following thirty-three (33) countries are able to obtain a waiver valid for 180 days from the date of issuance and entitle the holder to spend up to ninety (90) days in Qatar during either a single trip or on a multiple trips.

Nationals of the following forty-seven (47) countries are able to obtain a waiver upon arrival in Qatar. The waiver will be valid for thirty (30) days from the date of issuance and entitle the holder to spend up to thirty (30) days in Qatar either during a single trip or multiple trips. The waiver may be extended for a further thirty (30) days.
