Morocco – New Requirement for Residence Permit Renewal

What has changed

Recently, police authorities have increased control over documents being submitted for Residence Permit renewal applications. Applicants must now have a lease contract that is valid for at least six (6) months on the day of the application and it cannot mention an expiry date. Previously, there were no specifications on the validity of the lease contract.

Who is affected?
What to expect

  • Residence Permit renewal applicants

Applicants must meet new Residence Permit renewal requirements, otherwise they may have their application rejected (particularly in Casablanca). If the lease contract does not meet the minimum six (6) month validity, applicants must prepare an amendment to the current contract and extend the validity period.
