What has changed
As per a recent announcement made by the Department of Immigration Services Foreign Nationals Management Section Nairobi, Kenya, a registration drive is currently underway to verify and re-register all work permits on the Kenyan electronic data base. This effort began on May 21, 2018 and will continue until July 21,2018. Biometric data of foreign workers will also be collected and recorded during this verification process.
Who is affected?
All clients who are holders of current work permits for Kenya. Our local partner in Kenya can accompany the clients for this process as needed. This does not apply to holders of a Kenyan Dependent Pass, Special Pass and or Permanent Residence Permit.
What to expect
For all current work permits issued under the Immigration Act, the work permit holders are required to present themselves at one of the Immigration offices in Nairobi, Mombasa or Kisumu with the following documents to complete the process:
- Original Permit
- Original Passport on which their Work/Entry Permit was endorsed
- Original Alien Registration Card
- Official Permit payment receipt
- Copy of Kenya Revenue Authority Personal Identification Number (KRA PIN)
