Indonesia – Mandatory Annual Foreign Employee Reports

What has changed

Effective December 12, 2018, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) implemented article 33 Regulation no. 10 of 2018, which requires the annual reporting of foreign workers manually to the MOM.

The deadline for clients to submit their 2018 annual reports for foreign employees is January 10, 2019. Potential administrative sanctions for failure to submit the annual reports by the deadline include temporary suspension of the processing of company’s foreign worker work permits in accordance with article 39, 2c-d of Regulation no. 10 of 2018.

Who is affected

All clients who employ or will employ foreign workers in Indonesia.

What to expect

All clients must complete the annual reporting of their foreign workers manually to the MOM by the January 10, 2019 deadline.

Clients must submit the annual report for currently employed foreign workers, foreign workers who have cancelled their work permits at the company in the running year, and implementation of education and training progress for Indonesian counterparts.
