India – Online Portal C Form Checkout Now Mandatory

What is changing?

Effective immediately, in addition to hotels, guest houses, and serviced apartments, the landlords of privately owned residences also must now report the departure or check-out of foreign national guests and tenants through an online portal previously launched for occupancy reporting purposes.

Who will be affected?

  • All expats residing in India who are staying in hotels, guest houses, rented properties, or privately owned residences.

What to expect

The Ministry of Home Affairs via the Bureau of Immigration and the local Foreigners Regional Registration Offices has announced that updating departure/checkout particulars in C Form (online) is now mandatory. In addition to hotels, guest houses, and serviced apartments, the landlords of privately owned residences also must now report departure or check-out of foreign national guests and tenants through an online portal previously launched for occupancy reporting purposes.
