Hong Kong – Vietnamese Nationals are Now Eligible for a Training/Internship Visa

What has changed

Vietnam nationals may now apply for a Training/Internship Visa. This change took place in November 2016 and was verbally confirmed by the authorities in January 2017. Previously, Vietnamese nationals were among the few nationals who were not eligible for certain visa categories in Hong Kong, including the Training/Internship Visa.

What to expect

Clients may now hire Vietnamese nationals for training or internship purposes for a maximum duration of one (1) year.

This change was verbally confirmed by the immigration authorities in Hong Kong. Vietnam has also been removed from the list of ineligible countries for a Training/Internship Visa on the website.
