Germany – Minimum Salary Requirement for Blue Card Applications Raised.

What is changing?

The annual minimum salary requirement for Blue Card applications has been raised by the government effective January 1, 2018.

 

Who will be affected?

  • All clients planning to send an employee to Germany, or who currently have a foreign employee working in Germany.

 

What to expect

The minimum salary is now 52.000,00 EUR and for shortage occupations at least 40.560,00 EUR. It has no impact on current Blue Card holders. However, this will now be applicable for all new or renewal applications.
