What has changed
Effective January 1, 2017, the hourly minimum wage in France increased from 9.61 euros to 9.76 euros. Therefore, the monthly minimum salary is now 1480.27 euros compared to the previous minimum of 1466.62 euros per month.

What to expect
To be eligible for certain French visa and residence permit categories, the foreigner must reach a minimum salary amount that is calculated based on the French minimum wage. For instance, to obtain a residence permit under the category “Talent passport: ICT mobility – local contract”, an intra company transferee locally hired in France must earn at least 1.8 times the French minimum wage, which is 2,664.48 euros gross per month. To obtain a residence permit under the category “Talent passport : legal representative”, the legal representative of a company established in France must earn at least three (3) times the French minimum wage, which is 4,440.81 euros gross per month.
